Each year, thousands of children enter the foster care system.  They need your help.  By becoming a foster parent, you foster a child’s hope for the future.  LFS foster parents help children, youth and their families separated by abuse and neglect issues.  Foster parents provide a safe home as children and their families resolve conflict and heal.  Foster parents:

 
• Provide nurturing structure and supervision
• Teach and model life skills
• Coordinate school and educational activities
• Promote positive relationships between children and their biological families
• Serve as a team member in support of a child’s individual needs
